No other Super Couple has never met in this crazy way, not even in prime time. This was Santa Barbara: taking risk! Patrick Mulcahey: did you write that? Nancy Lee Grahn: do you remember who wrote it? Thank you.
Santa Barbara: Mason and Julia Meet And Later Strike A Deal! (First Two Scenes Together) (1985)
Mason Capwell meets Julia Wainwright in a most amusing way at the State Street Bar. Their paths cross again when Julia teases...
Patrick Mulcahey, один из лучших авторов СБ, имхо:
Oy, the 80s! The hair! This wasn't long after we brought Julia on, we hadn't hit our stride yet but we were about to. It was Jerry's idea to have Mason set up his office in a bar. Who remembers, but I don't think I wrote these scenes. Possibly the first one. I can't remember if I was doing story outlines then with Jerry and Chuck or not yet.
Pier:
At that time Julia was involved with the great Joel Crothers's character. And Sister Mary was about to come to the show...
Anyway I was very attracted by Ginger Jones, played by Paula Kelly. She was a powerfull dark lady. But unfortunately her potential was not exploited.... in my opinion.
Patrick Mulcahey:
She must've been a blip racing by, because I don't remember Paula Kelly on the show at all. Joel Crothers of course I remember, but he wasn't with us long either. Some of my favorite Julia scenes were between Nancy and Louise Sorel. I always bought them as sisters.
Pier:
I tried to find some videos on Ginger Jones, but there are very few. Nancy and Louise seem to be really sisters, as Marcy Walker and Carrington Garland. Great Casting!

Patrick Mulcahey :
You're right — she's more alive than anybody else in the scene. Still don't remember it. I didn't start till September or October of 1984, so maybe I missed her.
Pier:
Yes, cause to me Patrick's job was more than "a job". To me and to millions of people all around the world.
T.D. :
"Patrick, I was disappointed that when Julia came on she wasn't paired with Mason early on. Were there any plans to pair them from the beginning? You could see Lane and Nancy's chemistry from the start. It was electric!"
Patrick Mulcahey:
Well, I think the best things aren't planned, they just look that way. :-) They were both attorneys, so we probably had it in the back of our minds, I can't remember. But you have to let the audience get used to a new character before throwing her into a front-burner story. It became pretty clear early on that the front burner was Nancy Lee Grahn's natural home."
T.D:
: "I guess you are right :-) I was a fan of both from pre SB work so I was thrilled when Nancy came on and saw that first interaction. (удаляю часть поста в которой речь идет о другой истории Мейсона,и даже если мнение автора поста совпадает с моим, но меня здесь интересует мнение П.М., а он о ней не вспомнил) Julia was Mason 's equal in every way. I liked also the classic movie vibe I got from them. I agree with you about Nancy being front burner material. She has always been awesome! :-)"
